About Us

Jacobs Jam Company is an exciting new, level 1 B-BBEE, female, youth-owned jam and sauce manufacturer, located in the picturesque and fruitful Ceres valley in the Western Cape of South Africa, a mere 140 km north-east of Cape Town.

Our family business is passionately driven by young entrepreneurs Christynn and Nigel Jacobs, who collectively have more than 25 years’ experience in the local and international FMCG and agro-processing industries. Christynn, a Food Technologist, is the heart of the business, having created our special and unique recipes from scratch in her kitchen while systematically upscaling to a commercial factory. Her background includes developing and maintaining food products, as well as Food Safety Management Systems for some of the best known household brands in South Africa. Nigel, a Marketing professional, has worked all over the world in countries including Japan, China, Russia, Europe and South America. He has collaborated with some of the biggest local and international FMCG companies and brands with a focus on fruit-based products and is the current Chairman of the South African Fruit Juice Association (SAFJA).

In 2018 Christynn and Nigel left their corporate lives to pursue their dream, taking the key learnings with them and incorporating it into their own business. Together they assembled an incredible team with the focus on delivering efficiently produced products at the highest quality.

Ceres

Ceres is our home and we are world renowned for producing all kinds of the most delectable, sweet and juicy fresh fruit and fruit based products. The town is aptly named after the Roman goddess of agriculture, crops, fertility and motherly relationships. A very fitting name indeed, given the abundance of nature’s best harvested here every year.

Buying Local

Our fruit is exclusively sourced from local crops within a 100 km radius from our factory. Our apricots and peaches are grown mainly in Montagu, strawberries in Stellenbosch, pomegranates in Wellington and apples and pears right here in the Witzenberg area around Ceres and Wolseley. Hereby we are able to plough back and help with creating employment and opportunities in the rural areas.
